The Worst Christmas (2016)

Wham George Michael

George Michael (1963-2016)

George Michael Dead at 53” was not the type of Christmas Story that any of us thought in our wildest dreams that we would see today.  2016 has been ruthless when it comes to our 80’s heroes.

There really would be no Bobby and Jason 80’s nostalgia if it wasn’t for George and Wham!. “Edge of Heaven”, “Freedom”, “Last Christmas”, and “Everything She Wants” are the very foundation of our 80s memories. That wonderful time when whenever you turned on the radio, mtv, the news, saw billboards, hung posters and went to concerts…there was George Michael.

Here is an article that includes Georges final encore from his last concert in 2012.

This is a bit George did with James Cordon in 2011 showing his comedic side.  He starts at 2:11 and again at the end.

Thank you George for everything you brought to our lives.

You will be missed.

Bobby and Jason

Get involved… send us ideas, suggestions, and things you would like to hear and see.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!

If you’re like us you gotta be saying “Are you kidding me?”.

Every few years since 1989 we’ve been teased, toyed with and let down.

There’s some surprise reunion of some 80’s hair band. Or you’ll see a cool cameo of some greying 80’s tv star. You may even get a “poorly thought out remake”(we’re looking at you ‘Vacation’) to remind you that the powers that be today just don’t get it.

Over the past few months there has been an awakening. This time…it looks and feels real. Continue reading

80's game show hosts

Hair to dye for.

It seemed like they were always on.

Every host had that particular suit, type of delivery, and host haircut.

You know the one. (look left)

There were a few that stuck out but more or less you could trade in one for another and not skip a beat.  Now the games themselves were a whole lot different than the HD effects laden modern shows on tv today.

Here are a few of the great 80s game shows that really stuck out:

I know you may find it hard to believe due to our Wham super-fandom, but we were totally 80’s hair band fans.

It’s true!

It may have seemed that Joe had all of the “rocker” cred. in our little crew…but appearances can be deceiving. Proud owners of every hair-sprayed, rouge tinted rock record from 85-89. Some of our pop culture icons were very pretty 😉.

There were more than a dozen times a full blown Poison lip- sync was debated (full make-up and spandex included).

We’re pretty sure you’ll agree, here are a few of the top 80’s bands that had us “havin’ a good time”.

We didn’t know how good we had it at the movies back in the 80s.

One only has to look to todays theater offerings to see that things just aren’t the same.  Sure there is the occasional amazing character driven blockbuster (Iron Man anyone?).

It seems like the days of that indelible character in a film that just makes the whole movie are way behind us.

These are a few 80’s characters that in our opinion, transcended the movies and leapt into popular culture.
