The short version: Bobby and Jason is a podcast and a site full of 80s stories. There are no accounts, no newsletter, no comment boxes, and no advertising. The contact form is the only place the site asks for your name or email address, and only when you choose to use it.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and episodes people come back for. It sets cookies in your browser and collects things like the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you here, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. A search on this site becomes part of the results page’s address, so the words you searched for are recorded with that page view.
It also records a few things you do on a page: pressing play on an episode or on a track on the audio page, downloading an episode, and clicking a link that leads to another site. None of this is connected to anything you send through the contact form.
That information goes to Google and is handled under Google’s own policies. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services, and offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site. Blocking cookies in your browser works too.
Players and embeds
Episodes on the episode pages play straight from this site. The players on the home, audio, and video pages come from Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Apple Music, and YouTube, and the YouTube player loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com). The homepage also shows posts from our Instagram and a panel from our Facebook page.
Each of those is loaded from the company that runs it, and that company may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy: Spotify, Apple, Google for YouTube, and Meta for Instagram and Facebook.
Share buttons and fonts
The share buttons on every page come from AddToAny, and the site’s typefaces come from Google Fonts. Both load from those companies’ servers each time a page opens, so they receive what any web request carries: your IP address, your browser type, and the page you’re on. AddToAny handles that under its privacy policy, and Google under its own.
The contact form
The contact page asks for your name, your email address, and your message. When you hit send, the message is emailed to us through Resend, an email delivery service, and a copy is saved on the site’s server so nothing gets lost. We use what you send to read it and write back, and for nothing else.
Before a message goes through, Cloudflare Turnstile checks in the background that a person, not a bot, is sending it. That check is covered by Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy policy.
Hosting logs and security
The site runs on a WordPress server at our web host and reaches you through Cloudflare. Like nearly every site on the internet, both keep standard technical logs (things like IP addresses, requested pages, and browser type) to run and protect the service. Cloudflare also runs a bot check in the background on every page and may set a security cookie of its own to tell real browsers from automated traffic. Cloudflare’s part of this is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Posts link out to sources, streaming services, and stores, and the footer links to our sister site, WatchParty USA. None of those links are paid or affiliate links. Once you follow one, you’re on that site under its privacy policy.
Kids
This site is written for the grown-ups who were there in the 80s. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If what the site collects ever changes, this page changes first and says so plainly. Questions about any of it can come through the contact page.
