[00:44] Bobby: Yeah. So just sitting here, you and I, going over everything, I don’t know about you, on Thursdays when we drop this thing, I have a blast reading what everybody has to say.

[01:20] Jason: Douchebags. So one fan, everybody was loving the douchebags, by the way, but one fan wrote me and I left one out that she brought up. Do you remember National Lampoon’s European Vacation with Chevy Chase?

[01:35] Bobby: Yes.

[01:36] Jason: It’s kinda not the best one, but it was in the ’80s, and the character, there was a douchebag in there, and it was the same guy from The Karate Kid, man, he’s in like every movie.

[01:46] Bobby: That’s what he is, look him up and you get douchebag.

[01:49] Jason: He has that whole douchebag look, but he’s great, man. And he played the boyfriend of Chevy Chase’s daughter, and they went to Europe for this vacation, and she didn’t wanna go ’cause the dude was back there, and she’s crying, and she’s got his pictures, and she was obsessed.

[02:09] Bobby: Yeah.

[02:10] Jason: So yeah, he was a real dickhead.

[02:11] Bobby: That guy had a good gig, here’s the deal, back in the day when we were doing the rounds in LA and whatnot, I would’ve taken that gig, I would’ve been stereotyped.

[02:20] Jason: Of course, man, he was great at it, and he made the most of it, and he’s still doing his thing today.

[02:26] Bobby: That’s great, man.

[02:27] Jason: So what else did we do? Oh, we did the bad guys.

[02:29] Bobby: Yes.

[02:30] Jason: Marlon came to the table with a great list of bad guys, we had Chucky.

[02:34] Bobby: Yes.

[02:35] Jason: Chucky with his knife.

[02:36] Bobby: Chucky with the knife, we had Freddy.

[02:38] Jason: Freddy.

[02:39] Bobby: And did we have Jason? You brought up Jason, didn’t you?

[02:42] Jason: Well, we didn’t talk about Jason, but he was one of Freddy’s buddies.

[02:46] Bobby: I can’t help it, it’s like when you talk about them, in your head, I see them all as I close my eyes, all of them popping up like a ride in Disneyland.

[02:54] Jason: And of course the Die Hard guy, Hans-

[02:56] Bobby: Hans Gruber.

[02:57] Jason: Ooh, nice accent, Jason.

[02:59] Bobby: Thank you very much.

[03:01] Jason: So yeah, we did the bad guys, we did the douchebags, what are we gonna do this week? How do we top douchebags?

[03:08] Bobby: I don’t know, but it’s like, it’s so much better to be the bad guy, everybody wants to be the hero, but being the bad guy is so much more fun. Well, in the movies and in your dream, you don’t wanna be one in real life.

[03:19] Jason: Right, no, I agree, I think as an actor, I’d rather play the bad guy personally, plus I have the voice to play a bad guy.

[03:27] Bobby: Yeah, you really don’t have the… I could picture you like being Kindergarten Cop 3, the nice guy, could say, “Hey kids.”

[03:35] Jason: Come here.

[03:37] Bobby: So yeah, that’s one of the things that we like getting into here a little bit is current events. Bob and I, before we would do the show, in the beginning we’d just talk about ’80s stuff, but as we’re going more and more, before we hit the microphones we talk about what’s going on, just like you do when you see it.

[03:53] Jason: I mean, we like to keep on top of things, we like to gossip too, we’re pretty bad as far as that’s concerned, we’re the gossip guys.

[04:01] Bobby: Yeah. And I gotta be honest, I would never watch any of those shows, I never saw any of them, but my wife really enjoys watching the TMZ and ET and whatever else.

[04:13] Jason: Oh, so she’s really into gossip.

[04:14] Bobby: So she just watches that stuff, and I’ll be up in my office, and every once in a while I’ll hear something, like some ’80s person or something, or like Bobby Brown this, and I’ll be like our dogs, “Oh, what is that?”

[04:30] Jason: Yeah, your ear turns to the television.

[04:33] Bobby: Right, and you start looking, and then all of a sudden you realize this Kardashian thing or something like that, so I’ve actually been a little more hip to the gossipy thing lately.

[04:45] Jason: Yeah, I have a little gossip.

[04:47] Bobby: Oh, you got a little gossip, hit me.

[04:48] Jason: It’s kind of gossip/news, and probably a lot of you Prince fans have read this or heard about it, that his home, Paisley Park, they’re gonna open tours starting in October.

[05:02] Bobby: Which is crazy, because this guy was the most, him and Michael Jackson, the most reclusive.

[05:08] Jason: Yeah, exactly. And I think it’s something that I would personally love to see, and the people running it are the same people that run Graceland for Elvis Presley, so I’m sure they’re gonna do it really professionally.

[05:20] Bobby: They’re gonna do a really good job.

[05:22] Jason: And apparently, according to Prince’s sister, Prince wanted this to happen, so it has his blessing.

[05:29] Bobby: You never think that, but at least when he put the stuff in his vaults, he said, “One day when I’m gone.” So, you know what, I’ll tell you, Minneapolis Airport is one of the nicest airports in the country.

[05:42] Jason: I’ve never been there, I’ll take your word for it.

[05:44] Bobby: And that’s crazy, so now I have another reason to like Minneapolis, if that’s the case, I would go.

[05:50] Jason: I’m down, we’ll put that on our bucket list.

[05:53] Bobby: So some of my gossip that I have going on here, and I know, please don’t lose respect for me by me saying this, is I know about The Bachelor.

[06:01] Jason: Oh, man.

[06:02] Bobby: I can’t help it, like this Bachelor in Paradise thing, my wife watches it and I just get sucked into it. You’re lucky your wife doesn’t watch this stuff.

[06:11] Jason: Yeah, she watches novelas, which means in English, soap operas.

[06:17] Bobby: Well, wasn’t that something that what’s her nuts, the Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria just did a telenovela or something?

[06:23] Jason: Yeah, exactly, they’re novelas. But I’m not into that, and Bachelor, I’ve never watched an episode. So are you digging it?

[06:30] Bobby: It’s not that I’m digging it, but when I’m watching it, I’m like-

[06:34] Jason: But you wanna see what happens next.

[06:35] Bobby: I wanna see what happens, I get it.

[06:38] Bobby: It’s crazy. So I know we’re taking a little left turn here on the gossip guys, but I would say Ink Master, I’m digging Ink Master, I don’t know why.

[06:51] Jason: Ink Master’s not bad, I’ve seen that a few times.

[06:53] Bobby: Couple guys are out here in Vegas. Oh, and dude, I got a new segment because we gotta do this. Little background, everybody out there, Bob and I, we’re always texting each other or emailing each other, if we see something stupid or something we’d like, or Star Wars-

[07:12] Jason: We’re basically plugged in.

[07:13] Bobby: Yes, totally plugged in, so we’re always back and forth here. So we got a new segment here we’re gonna call Jackass of the Week.

[07:21] Jason: Jackass of the Week?

[07:22] Bobby: How’s that? You like that?

[07:22] Jason: Give me your best jackass of the week.

[07:24] Bobby: Well, the winner this week is definitely Ryan Lochte, I mean that guy is a stunad.

[07:32] Jason: Well, here’s my, I got some opinions about this story, this story has evolved into craziness, because it started off first that there was a gun pointed at his head, and we had talked about that a couple episodes back, turns out that wasn’t the case.

[07:47] Bobby: No, guy made all this shit up.

[07:49] Jason: But I don’t know, man, the guy lost a lot of sponsorships over this, he did apologize, but it sounds like he is a jackass, he’s a stupid motherfucker.

[08:00] Bobby: He’s a stunad, Bobby, he’s a stunad.

[08:03] Jason: Now what the hell you do, Ryan Lochte? What’s going on here? You go out with the real, you act like an asshole, your mother drop on her head, go far.

[08:10] Jason: So anyway, sorry people, we went on a little Italian rant. Here’s the deal, I think that the Rio police overreacted a little bit, because here’s what the guy actually did. These swimmers, they didn’t destroy the bathroom, what they did was they actually peed outside and Ryan Lochte ripped down a poster, that’s basically what they did. So then the attendants at the gas station demanded the money for the damage.

[08:44] Bobby: Mm.

[08:44] Jason: And I’m not sure if there was a language barrier or not.

[08:47] Bobby: Oh, I’m sure, he has a language barrier with English.

[08:49] Jason: Yeah, and they were drunk.

[08:51] Jason: So yeah, they’re definitely, the whole group of them are jackasses, and he’s paying a big price, bro, he lost Speedo.

[08:58] Bobby: Well, he’s doing Dancing With the Stars.

[09:00] Jason: He is. He lost Ralph Lauren, I’m just saying, that’s some big sponsorships.

[09:04] Bobby: Well, that’s what happens with people, they don’t think.

[09:05] Jason: And hopefully he’s gonna learn from it, he kind of made the United States look bad. He made the United States look bad back in that reality show he did too. So anyway, good jackass. Have you ever been to Rio? I did see the movie Blame It on Rio, do you remember that, Michael Caine, great movie. And fun fact, a very young Demi Moore was in that film.

[09:29] Bobby: Oh, wow.

[09:30] Jason: She was in that film, good movie.

[09:34] Jason: So I have a jackass too. Here’s the problem, I don’t know the name of the jackass.

[09:42] Bobby: Doesn’t matter.

[09:44] Jason: But let’s call this jackass the Hacker.

[09:47] Bobby: Yes, the Hacker.

[09:48] Jason: This guy, so I’m sure everybody’s read about Leslie Jones from Ghostbusters, and what this hacker did to her is just shameful, in my opinion. Whether you like this movie or not, or you like the actress or not, they took it to a whole nother level and just invaded her privacy and put that shit all out there on the internet, I just think it’s so wrong.

[10:10] Bobby: Yeah, I agree with you on that, that’s some personal, private stuff. I mean, somebody just did it a year ago to everybody, it’s horrible.

[10:14] Jason: Broke into, and whoever this hacker is, hopefully the government, I know they’re investigating it, I heard the Department of Justice is all over this, and we don’t have his name, so for now we’re just calling him the Hacker, and he is definitely a jackass.

[10:31] Bobby: Jackass. I don’t know, I like this, we had douchebags and we have jackasses, so everybody out there in listening land, if you have anybody you wanna nominate as a jackass-

[10:42] Jason: Please let us know.

[10:43] Bobby: Just let us know, email us, well I’m sure we’ll have an opinion on it, and we’d love to hear yours as well. So I like it, this brings out some of the testosterone and angst, what do you think, huh?

[11:15] Marlon: Hello, mates, how you doing?

[11:19] Jason: Oh, listen to him, he’s bringing his accent. He is, well, he is an actor.

[11:22] Bobby: I could tell. So, he’s played a cop, hey tell us, speaking of it, you played a, I remember you did something where you were in the park, and you were like this guy just talking, and talking, and talking.

[11:35] Marlon: Yeah, that was a character I played that had autism, actually. I researched autism, I researched a whole gamut where different personalities call for different type of personalities, and my character was a middle-aged guy.

[11:57] Marlon: He had autism, and this movie was based in Central Park, where this guy had, he gave out free advice, he had a checkerboard, he had a sign that said free advice.

[12:09] Marlon: And he was an 80-year-old guy, he was very, he had a lot of wisdom.

[12:15] Marlon: My character just happened to be sitting on a bench, on a park bench, and he tried to talk to me, but my autism doesn’t look people in the eyes, and so I’m just talking in the air.

[12:29] Jason: Well bro, you need to get us a clip so we can post it.

[12:34] Bobby: Yeah, we gotta see that.

[12:36] Marlon: Oh, absolutely, and keep in mind, I have a montage of a lot of my films on YouTube, you just put Marlon Dowd in search and you’ll see a montage.

[12:47] Jason: Yeah, we’ll definitely, it’s definitely worth checking out.

[12:49] Bobby: Definitely.

[12:50] Jason: So what do you got going on this weekend? What’s going on back east, my man? Besides, is it hot?

[12:56] Marlon: Well, it’s actually very nice, it’s 88, usually about 90, so for me I love the heat, I don’t love an overbearing amount of heat, but I like that roast, so it’s actually very pleasant right now.

[13:11] Jason: Well then you’ll fit in in Vegas, you can roast there. We’re at 99, we’re actually getting, it’s like springtime.

[13:19] Bobby: It’s cool at 99.

[13:21] Jason: So what do you got going on, what’s going on in Marlon world, where are you going this weekend?

[13:29] Marlon: Actually, very excited, I finally found the time to go to the movies, and I’m very excited about seeing Suicide Squad.

[13:39] Jason: Ooh, he’s going to the bad guys, you’re finally gonna go see Suicide Squad.

[13:43] Marlon: I’m finally gonna go see it, I know, Bob, you probably was at the first showing.

[13:48] Jason: No, I wasn’t, I was at the second showing, my brother. But yeah, you’re gonna enjoy it, it’s a great film, Harley Quinn, she’s awesome.

[13:58] Marlon: I take it that was your favorite character in the movie?

[14:00] Jason: Her and Will Smith, Deadshot.

[14:02] Marlon: Oh, okay, Deadshot.

[14:03] Jason: Yeah, they were my two favorites, and the Joker, he was great, he wasn’t in it as much as I would have liked. But there seemed to be some reason behind that, which we’ll find out in future films.

[14:27] Jason: So it looks like a sequel or a series, I think they wanna develop the Joker and Harley’s relationship as they did in the comics.

[14:27] Bobby: So you’re in for a good time.

[14:29] Jason: Yeah, and definitely stay because there’s some stuff after the credits, do not leave.

[14:34] Marlon: Okay, gotcha.

[14:37] Bobby: So yeah, Marlon, we were talking about more current events and stuff that’s going on, basically from the beginning of the podcast with Bob and I, we were just like, let’s talk about stuff we’re talking about. So now we’re just kinda expanding it into more and more, so it’s basically everything we’re talking about.

[14:54] Jason: Yeah, we’ve become like the gossip guys now too.

[14:57] Bobby: So that’s pretty awesome, man.

[14:59] Marlon: I’m all over it.

[15:00] Jason: So what do you got?

[15:02] Marlon: All right, so I was sifting through current events and I thought this one really kind of blew my mind, it kinda relates to me as a kid, and I want to get you guys’ opinion. A kid out in Canada had called 911 to report that her parents was taking her on a vacation and she did not wanna go.

[15:37] Marlon: This pretty much rocked my world because I remember going on vacation with my parents, and my uncle and my aunt, and it was a great time, I looked forward to it, but this kid did not wanna go.

[15:40] Bobby: Must have been, she was going to like Alcatraz or somewhere?

[15:42] Jason: I mean that’s the most exciting thing as a kid, to know that you’re gonna go on vacation. Let me tell you a little story, my father, I grew up in a single home with my father, and he worked a lot, but he really took care of me, and he knew that I was a big fan of Disney and I wanted to go to Disney World. And he made it happen, I remember going, I was a seven-year-old kid, and it was the most exciting thing, I can’t imagine myself saying, “Dad, you go alone, I don’t wanna go.”

[16:11] Marlon: Right, right.

[16:12] Jason: No way I was missing Disney.

[16:14] Bobby: That’s crazy, that’s crazy Canadian stuff right there.

[16:18] Marlon: Now, it also could be that she was a 15-year-old girl, so that’s a whole different monster altogether.

[16:25] Bobby: Maybe she didn’t wanna leave her boyfriend.

[16:27] Jason: Yeah, maybe she didn’t wanna leave the friends.

[16:30] Bobby: She’s like, “No, I don’t wanna hang out with you on vacation, Dad.”

[16:34] Jason: Yeah, exactly.

[16:36] Marlon: And not to mention the abuse of 911, I just don’t think it’s even appropriate at all to do that.

[16:47] Bobby: It seems a little over the top, I’d love to hear that call. “I don’t wanna go on vacation with my dad.”

[16:52] Marlon: My younger brother’s a cop, and I know that drives cops crazy when that happens.

[16:58] Jason: Yeah, they’re just wasting people’s time, 911 is not a joke.

[17:09] Marlon: It’s not a joke. So going forward, I remember a young kid, and I think he might’ve been seven or eight, who played in a movie called Home Alone, and he’s been in the press lately because, not to mention, Macaulay’s actually a very successful guy. He’s sitting on a $15 million nest egg.

[17:38] Jason: That you made when you were a kid.

[17:41] Marlon: The press looked at him, he’s a very thin guy, so they thought maybe he’s on drugs and blah blah blah, and it turns out he’s just hanging out, he’s in a band, he’s done commercials for this insurance company called Compare the Market, which are really funny commercials online. And I just thought to myself, this guy’s just living his life privately, he made his life, his life is famous for being in these Home Alone movies.

[18:13] Jason: For years. John Hughes made him famous.

[18:17] Jason: No, but it’s cool, I think it’s cool that this kid found his own path, he didn’t go fall into that Hollywood trap, staying in Hollywood, he went the way he wanted.

[18:29] Bobby: Regardless of what people thought.

[18:30] Jason: Right, he’s doing what makes him happy, and I think that’s great.

[18:35] Bobby: No, I agree with you, but a lot of people out there, like I said earlier, in the TMZ world, they think that they own that person, or they have to be what they think they are in their heads, like he’s supposed to be that Home Alone kid, or Chris Farley was always supposed to be the funny fat guy. And some people break, and some people blaze their own trail, like you just said, and I give him more power to them.

[18:57] Jason: I give him major props.

[19:00] Marlon: Major props, exactly, he just turned 36 this week.

[19:06] Bobby: Wow, he’s young.

[19:07] Marlon: Yeah, he’s 36.

[19:11] Jason: Yeah, but think about it, when he was in the movie, what was he, like six, seven years old?

[19:15] Marlon: Absolutely, and it was really great, for Uncle Buck he made $40,000.

[19:22] Jason: Uncle Buck, bro, wait a minute, Uncle Buck is such a phenomenal movie, the scene with him and John Candy when they went back and forth, “I’m a kid.” You remember that scene?

[19:33] Bobby: Oh, classic.

[19:54] Marlon: Unbelievable. Well, here’s the thing, Bobby, the funny thing about that scene is the great John Candy, rest in peace, he actually put that scene on his forehead for Macaulay.

[20:06] Jason: I didn’t know that.

[20:07] Bobby: I didn’t know that either, that’s awesome.

[20:08] Marlon: So he can keep the pace going, he wanted that pace really fast, so he put the scene on his forehead, you won’t see it in the movie obviously, but behind the scenes that’s what gave Macaulay that drive to nail that scene.

[20:20] Jason: Because the timing between them was just great.

[20:26] Marlon: Yeah, I mean, you gotta remember, this is a seven-year-old, eight-year-old kid, and he’s right there with John Candy, giving John Candy all he can handle.

[20:35] Bobby: Yeah, that’s when you knew.

[20:37] Jason: I’ll never forget that scene, man. Speaking of actors and making major millions of dollars, Forbes just released last week their top earners, male and female actors and actresses, and I thought we’d talk a little bit about that.

[20:54] Bobby: Not jealous at all in any way, shape, or form.

[20:56] Jason: So last year, my man, Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. was the top dog, but he’s been replaced by Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

[21:06] Bobby: Ooh, yeah, do you watch Ballers, man, on HBO?

[21:09] Jason: I haven’t seen it yet.

[21:11] Bobby: For somebody to be the top earner like that and still do TV, even though it is HBO, he’s awesome.

[21:18] Jason: But Dwayne The Rock Johnson, he didn’t make any movies in the ’80s, but he was a player for the University of Miami football team, which is my team.

[21:27] Bobby: Wait a second, absolutely, there you go, I’m about to drop a Marlon knowledge thing here that I know: Dwayne Johnson was actually on Star Trek, Deep Space Nine or The Next Generation, he played an alien, it was one of his first, he played a wrestling alien, big stretch. I’ll see if I can find a clip of that.

[21:47] Jason: That’s cool. But Dwayne went from a football player to become this big wrestler, he was huge, and then he turned into this phenomenal actor, and he’s at the top of the world, bro.

[21:58] Marlon: It’s almost, which is really incredible, is that he had three stages of a career: he was in Miami Hurricanes as a star player, of course he had an injury.

[22:09] Jason: Yes.

[22:09] Marlon: He conquered the wrestling world, he was the top dog, he was the top of the game.

[22:15] Marlon: Top dog, he becomes a major star, and then he’s like this big movie star, to me that’s incredible.

[22:23] Jason: And he’s really a cool dude, he seems like somebody I’d wanna have a beer with, I follow him on Instagram, and I enjoy his posts, he’s a gym rat, and he always posts, and he’s unbelievable, man, and the guy’s funny too.

[22:38] Bobby: Yeah, he’s just a genuine, down to Earth, big down to Earth star.

[22:44] Jason: Shout out to him, number two on the list of the top five was a big surprise, Jackie Chan, he made all that foreign money, $61 million.

[22:58] Bobby: Wow.

[22:58] Jason: Is that unbelievable?

[23:00] Bobby: Yeah, I’d love to dig in to see what he’s doing.

[23:01] Jason: You know, I was introduced to Jackie Chan, like, on a big star level when he did that movie with Chris Tucker, remember the buddy film, Rush Hour.

[23:11] Bobby: Rush Hour, yeah.

[23:12] Marlon: Was, you know, Chris Tucker did that part, but it originally was Eddie Murphy’s part.

[23:16] Jason: Oh, I didn’t know that.

[23:18] Marlon: Eddie Murphy turned it down.

[23:18] Jason: Wow, there you go, Marlon, Marlon bringing it.

[23:23] Bobby: See that, people out there learning stuff.

[23:25] Jason: So here we got Matt Damon at number three, with $55 million. And let me give you a little fun fact about Matt Damon, in the ’80s he was an extra in the movie Mystic Pizza with Julia Roberts.

[23:40] Jason: And he also was an extra in Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner.

[23:44] Marlon: Now that I did not know.

[26:55] Marlon: Absolutely, and very talented, I remember seeing her in a movie a long time ago when she came on the scene, it was a very independent film, and she was fantastic in that film, I always knew she had talent.

[27:08] Jason: So number two is one of Jason’s favorites, because he loves this actress and this movie, it’s Melissa McCarthy, she made $33 million, and a big chunk of that came from that blockbuster, Ghostbusters.

[28:55] Marlon: So last night, I get this email from Jason, my man, and I open it up, and all these colors just exploded on the screen, all these beautiful visions of ice cream, I was blown away by this. I’m like, “What is this?”

[29:12] Bobby: Bro, well, sometimes I forget, Marlon, you’re three hours ahead, or behind. I got one of those cravings in the middle of the night, and I went to one of our local supermarkets, 24 hours, and I don’t know why, I was feeling like Dove bars, and as I’m walking down the aisle, I’m looking at all the popsicles and all the ice cream that’s in there, ’cause you never really notice it, when you go to the store you just want one thing.

[29:36] Jason: Did it give you a flashback?

[29:38] Bobby: It gave me a total flashback, I’m sitting there and I had memories of Mr. Softee and the Good Humor.

[29:45] Jason: The trucks.

[29:46] Bobby: Right, the trucks.

[29:46] Jason: And who can forget those trucks?

[29:49] Bobby: So I thought, I was like, “Oh, I could talk to Marlon,” and that’s why you got the email right there. So I was thinking as I was looking at this stuff, I know you guys must have went through this too. I grew up on a cul-de-sac, and in the summer you get this Mr. Softee and the Good Humor guy would come around, and I thought about the hardest decision, ’cause as I’m standing there and I looked at the Dove bars, I’m thinking, “Wow, there’s rocket pops and there’s ice cream sandwiches, and there’s this and there’s that.” What do you remember? It was like an event, remember when the ice cream man would come around, it was an event?

[30:24] Jason: Yo, let me tell you, I lived in South Philadelphia as a young boy, and when I heard that music, it was like everybody converged into the street, and we all met at the truck, and we’re all looking at the menu, and everybody’s trying to decide what they wanted, and man, that brings back memories.

[30:43] Bobby: Yeah, do you, Marlon, what do you, do you remember the trucks?

[30:46] Marlon: Well, you know, I grew up in West Philly, and the truck used to come around, and I would get my allowance from my parents, and I was smart enough to spread out my allowance.

[31:01] Marlon: Right, because I was very faithful to the Creamsicle, that was my-

[31:09] Jason: The Creamsicle, oh, the Creamsicle, that’s a good one.

[31:12] Marlon: And even to this day, I still am faithful to that.

[31:18] Bobby: Wow, oh man, so that answers the question, I was thinking to myself, because I would get money, I wouldn’t get money all the time, I was the oldest of five kids, and that was like the hardest decision to make, what was your favorites?

[31:29] Bobby: It was two bucks, so you’d sit there, if you spent a dollar, you could get one ice cream sandwich, so if I had $2, I got two ice cream sandwiches, but that’s boring. But you’re looking there and you’re seeing all the colors, my favorite was the double fudge mega missile, the one with the chocolate at the top, with the yellow in the middle, that was it.

[31:51] Bobby: Yeah, man I’m hungry.

[31:53] Jason: I had a couple favorites, I really liked that two screwball one where there was like gum at the bottom, it was like shaped like a triangle, and at the end you get that prize, the bubble gum.

[32:04] Bobby: It was like two desserts in one.

[32:05] Jason: It was awesome. And the other one I liked was the water ice, it was shaped like a red, white, and blue missile, and that jawn was good.

[32:16] Bobby: That was the other kind of mega missile.

[32:17] Jason: Yes, the red, white, and blue, man. What about you, Mar, besides a creamsicle, was there another one that you liked, or you were just faithful to the one?

[32:26] Marlon: You know, it’s funny because I liked the, it was actually called the firecracker back in the day, and I’m looking at your list and it looks like it’s called mega missile.

[32:36] Bobby: The mega missile.

[32:37] Jason: We’re-

[32:38] Marlon: Red, white, and blue, remember the red, white, and blue pops.

[32:39] Jason: Of course, that’s the one I just said, the mega missile.

[32:44] Bobby: So you guys are on the same wavelength.

[32:45] Jason: We’re on the same page, my brother. I’m gonna put a picture of this menu on Facebook so everybody can see what we’re talking about.

[32:52] Bobby: And that was like the first, as kids in the neighborhood, communal, where everybody would hang out, you’d see everybody there, there’d be the kids from down the street and everybody’d be there, and you’d be asking, “What is that? What are you getting?”

[33:06] Jason: It’s like, “Who’s that kid with the Fudgsicle? I should’ve gotten that, man, damn it.”

[33:11] Bobby: “Marlon, let’s trade.”

[33:13] Marlon: And wait a minute, I got a third, I always liked the strawberry shortcake.

[33:16] Jason: That’s a good one, bro.

[33:17] Bobby: That’s like a good go-to right there, man, that’s a great go-to.

[33:21] Jason: So there you go, that was my little, that’s, see, everybody out there in listening land, party people, we’re giving you the straight dope, that was me in the middle of the night texting the guys going, “Man, I’m feeling ice cream.” And here it is.

[33:46] Marlon: Absolutely. Speaking of dessert and ice cream and all that, I remember how water ice in the ’80s, actually is still really great today. And water ice in the ’80s to me was like the crème de la crème of dessert, and even today, going to Rita’s, Rita’s a big thing on the East Coast, I think it’s still out, is it on the West Coast, Bob?

[34:12] Jason: No, we don’t have a Rita’s here, but we do have water ice. Yeah, things that were cool in the ’80s, they’re still cool today.

[34:19] Bobby: And you could pick off left and right a million things that aren’t cool.

[34:24] Bobby: But like what’s cool, like him bringing up water ice, what’s cool today that was still cool in the ’80s? What transitioned and made the whole entire-

[34:41] Jason: So I’m a big fanboy of Star Wars, if you saw my house you would understand.

[34:49] Jason: And yeah, Star Wars was a big success in the late ’70s and throughout the ’80s and the ’90s, and of course today, they’re releasing Rogue One in like three months.

[35:05] Marlon: Absolutely, well, I’m very excited about the new movie because there’s a lot of stars in it, there’s Forest Whitaker, he’s an Oscar-winning actor, but my man Donnie Yen is in it, and he’s a Canadian action star, actually from Hong Kong, and he’s in the movie, I was blown away.

[35:25] Jason: No, man, it’s gonna be great.

[35:25] Marlon: I saw him in the new trailer, because Bobby, when I was at your house, I showed you a movie with Donnie Yen in it.

[35:31] Marlon: And I’m like, “This guy is the man,” and he’s in Star Wars, I’m blown away by that.

[35:38] Bobby: That’s awesome, I’ll tell you something, something that just, you see it all the time, is Converse, Chuck Taylors, man.

[35:45] Jason: Chuck Taylors, they never go out of fashion.

[35:47] Bobby: Not once ever have they ever gone out of fashion.

[35:50] Jason: Bro, I’ll tell you, I still have Chuck Taylors even today.

[39:17] Bobby: Two skinny kids figuring it out, and like I-

[39:20] Jason: Jason was wearing those layers.

[39:22] Bobby: Laying those layers, I was hiding it, I was hiding all the beefcake underneath there. But anyway, back there in the beginning, we were just kind of figuring everything out, everybody was figuring it out, the network, the production, everybody, nobody had any idea what the hell was gonna happen here.

[39:37] Jason: We certainly didn’t, we were teenagers.

[39:38] Bobby: No, we were, we were there for-

[39:40] Jason: You were 16 years old, we were there for the ride, man.

[39:43] Bobby: Yeah, but then the ride, you remember, it just felt like every week it got bigger and bigger and bigger, we’d go out, and there’d be autographs, there’d be all kinds of crazy stuff going on.

[39:52] Jason: Yeah, do you remember that time at Pulsations? It was 1987, there must’ve been 5,000 people there.

[39:58] Bobby: It was crazy, it was great.

[40:01] Bobby: We were going to LA, we were going to New York, we were doing all kinds of crazy stuff down in Miami, and then around ’88, ’89, when they started cutting, they cut the show back, do you remember when it was, what it was?

[40:12] Jason: I don’t know, I know we went from one hour to 30 minutes, obviously I have no idea why, that’s a network decision, so I assume we were jumping the shark, bro.

[40:22] Bobby: Yes, it kind of, well, things change, over about two years, like with any TV show, people get used to it, becomes part of their lives, and then I just felt the downturn, I felt the change, the show actually moved from one studio to another studio.

[40:38] Jason: Yeah, when it changed studios, I didn’t really personally like that, I really dug a lot the Channel 17 studio, that was my favorite place.

[40:47] Bobby: It was in the bones there.

[40:49] Jason: It just really was, even though it was like a big garage, it was really the home, it was the home of Dancing On Air and Dance Party USA.

[40:57] Bobby: Yes, it was the home of those places, and when we moved, and when things started to change, things started to get a little more strict, things started to get a little different, the tone changed.

[41:10] Jason: Do you remember getting pulled into the trailer for the talks?

[41:14] Bobby: Yeah, I remember, the talks.

[41:16] Jason: But yeah, no, you’re right, things changed, and it was time to move on.

[41:21] Bobby: Yeah, we’ve, like you said, you were doing the same thing, we were going to New York, going to LA.

[41:24] Jason: Yeah, I personally left, I was going on auditions for movies, and getting into acting, and I came back a few years later to host, but it wasn’t the same.

[41:35] Bobby: Yeah, you left in ’89, that’s when everything kind of, I kind of knew for a while before I left that this just wasn’t, I felt like it ran its course, and I bowed out, and that was that. And there’s the story.

[41:52] Jason: And there’s the show moment.
