[1:42] Jason: Yeah, I knew it, we really rocked it.

[1:44] Bobby: We started what, in July?

[1:46] Jason: Yeah, we started in July.

[1:47] Bobby: And we ran all the way until now, December.

[1:50] Jason: And we first started talking about it in January.

[1:53] Bobby: We did, a year ago. We actually started talking, plotting it, we had our first meal together down in downtown Summerlin.

[2:02] Jason: Our first meal meeting.

[2:03] Bobby: Meeting, right. And I introduced Jason to the best eggplant Parmesan ever, right there at the Grape Street.

[2:12] Jason: Grape Street, man, downtown Summerlin.

[2:14] Jason: Downtown Summerlin was great, and we started talking about this, and of course you know how life gets busy, and we were busy doing stuff, and we were like, “Yeah, we’ll get around to it.” And every time we hung out it wasn’t like, and then just one day we were just like, “Let’s just, I’ll bring some stuff over.”

[2:28] Bobby: Let’s do it.

[2:29] Jason: Let’s get this together.

[2:30] Bobby: Let’s try it.

[2:31] Jason: And if you go back and listen to that first one it’s like, eh.

[2:34] Bobby: It wasn’t bad.

[2:35] Jason: It wasn’t bad, no, but yeah, we’ve definitely grown over time, and I’ve had a lot of fun.

[2:41] Bobby: Like last week was cool, man, with that whole song game.

[2:43] Jason: You mean last week, the week off?

[2:45] Bobby: Well, two weeks ago, sorry, glitching out. But two weeks ago you introduced the song game and that was fun.

[2:53] Jason: Well, you know, I kinda like the, we’ve done a lot of stuff in the studio together, I’m a real studio head, I like sound and I like stuff like that. So just to drop things on him, it’s fun to fuck with him.

[3:05] Bobby: So do you, oh, he’s dropped the F-bomb.

[3:07] Jason: I’m sorry, well, there you go.

[3:08] Bobby: It’s rated R.

[3:09] Jason: And the thing I appreciate about you is you are very active on social media. I feel like everybody else too has gotten to know Harley.

[3:17] Bobby: Right, yeah, Harley’s like the third wheel, man, she drops bombs every once in a while, and Jason lets you know. She’s being a good girl today, she’s chilling under the table, the desk.

[3:30] Jason: She’s like a super dog, my wife is a real super dog person too.

[3:33] Bobby: Yeah.

[3:34] Jason: She’s very into it.

[3:35] Bobby: Yeah, Jason and his wife have a really adorable pug.

[3:38] Jason: Now, I’m looking around here and I don’t see a stocking for your dog, you don’t have one?

[3:42] Bobby: Not yet, it’s still only the first week of December, man, give me a little time.

[3:45] Jason: Oh yeah, that’s right, ’cause she’s new, Harley’s new. Sammy is eight years old, so.

[3:52] Bobby: This is actually Harley’s second Christmas.

[3:54] Jason: Oh, that’s right, okay. So second Christmas, but you don’t have a stocking for her.

[3:59] Bobby: It’s in a box somewhere.

[4:00] Jason: Okay, all right, I can’t find it. So that’s why I was asking you to get the stocking out, because our place, I never realized, I inherited Sammy, Maria had him before me, so he’s been around a couple years and I’ve watched him age. A pug, I didn’t realize they just age, they’re like these little cute things, and all of a sudden they turn into little Jabba the Huts.

[4:21] Bobby: That’s a perfect example.

[4:22] Jason: Like, he’s melted. And the thing about it is, we have all this pug stuff all over the place. And the thing I’m realizing with him is he’s really fucking stubborn, he’s just like an old man. So different from Harley, ’cause Harley’s just like, “Ah.”

[4:37] Bobby: So excitable. Because Harley’s still in that puppy phase even though she’s about a year and a half old. She’s got that type of dog, a French bulldog, they’re like clowns.

[4:47] Bobby: They have that clown personality, and I think they’re all like that, ’cause I’ve seen a lot of videos on YouTube of other Frenchies and it’s, Harley is exactly like those, I think it’s because there’s something in their genes.

[5:00] Jason: They got that big head.

[5:01] Bobby: The big ears. She’s all muscles, she’s like little Mike Tyson.

[5:06] Jason: And here’s something I, maybe you’re gonna have to look forward to also as she gets older. Sammy just doesn’t give a shit anymore, he’s a good dog, but he doesn’t eat everything and go messing around. But the other day I’m walking him and he just doesn’t care.

[5:22] Jason: I was walking him and he licked this dead lizard, you know those little lizards.

[5:27] Bobby: And then he’s like, “Hey Jason, let me lick your face.”

[5:29] Jason: Yeah, I’m like, “Go away,” right after. And I’m thinking, “There’s something wrong with him.” He’s like Forrest Gump-ish.

[5:38] Bobby: Is your wife gonna hear this podcast?

[5:39] Jason: Oh, sure she’s gonna hear this, she’s gonna laugh because I went and found the breeder papers that she had.

[5:45] Jason: And I’m like, “There’s something wrong with this dog.” So it turns out that his grandfather and his father are the same dog.

[5:53] Bobby: Oh, damn.

[5:54] Jason: So it makes all the sense in the world, my pug is inbred, and it totally makes all the sense in the world.

[6:01] Bobby: I don’t know about your dog, but Harley, she loves to get in the trash, and she loves toilet paper. One time I caught her, she grabbed the toilet paper, she ran, and she just took the whole roll, was going through the house.

[6:14] Bobby: I’m chasing her and her white toilet paper trail.

[6:16] Jason: I can picture you chasing this dog.

[6:18] Bobby: Man, I chase her all the time, but she’s a good dog overall.

[6:23] Jason: So yeah, I wanted to share that, my first little segment.

[6:26] Bobby: That was our doggy segment.

[6:27] Jason: There we go, doggy. So Christmas time.

[6:31] Bobby: It’s right upon us, bro.

[6:33] Jason: Yeah, Christmas time. And I’m gonna say something that’s gonna make me very unpopular, especially on this podcast.

[6:38] Bobby: Okay, let’s hear it.

[6:40] Jason: Last Christmas song.

[6:42] Jason: It’s not a very good song.

[6:45] Bobby: Oh, man.

[6:45] Jason: I’m sorry, listen, I appreciate what we did.

[6:50] Jason: Last Christmas, oh, go ahead, maybe when you sing it, it’s good.

[6:52] Bobby: I gave you my heart.

[6:55] Bobby: The very next day.

[6:57] Jason: You gave it away. Okay, anyways, the lip sync we did, fantastic, it’s great, I love it, I love that everybody loves it.

[7:05] Bobby: All the props we used in that.

[7:06] Jason: Yeah, it was great, it was fun. I don’t know what the hell I was doing in that, singing, but anyway. My point being is that we were out the other day and I listened to the song, maybe after the first six times I can hear that song and it’s like, okay, and then I’m really listening to it from a musician’s perspective. And then all of a sudden some dance version came on.

[7:29] Bobby: Oh, yeah, I think I’ve heard that.

[7:30] Jason: I didn’t think it was possible to make that song worse, but somebody, somehow, some way.

[7:35] Bobby: I disagree, I actually like the song, it brings back those memories, so I get it from a producer’s perspective, maybe it’s not the best song.

[7:46] Jason: See, now you’re making me feel bad, I’m sorry, now I’m gonna get hate mail, but I’m just sharing it with everybody, how I feel, okay?

[7:51] Bobby: But it was a good song for the time, it’s a Christmas song, come on.

[7:55] Jason: Now, if anybody out there ever does a podcast, you’re gonna realize this. The first 20 episodes, we’ve done over 10 hours of this, you think about what you’re gonna say, and you wanna make sure everything’s okay. And now you get to the point where it’s like, “All right, I’m just gonna say what I’m thinking.”

[8:10] Bobby: I think that’s the way it should be.

[8:11] Jason: I agree with you, but.

[8:11] Bobby: Makes it interesting.

[8:13] Jason: Yeah, I’m more or less like, I was thinking, you know what, that song kinda gets on my nerves.

[8:18] Bobby: But speaking of Christmas, and we get that Last Christmas is not on your top 10 list, but do you have any favorite moments? Do you like the decorations?

[8:31] Jason: I like the decorations, I like the whole vibe, I like the whole feel, I like the way it feels. It’s like even Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving has that feel, you could be in a locked room with no windows, and if they say it’s Thanksgiving, it feels that way.

[8:43] Jason: So Christmas really feels that way, I like the presents, I like that everybody’s up, everybody out here is really nice.

[8:50] Bobby: They are.

[8:50] Jason: It’s not like back in Philly where.

[8:52] Bobby: It’s my favorite holiday, I like the music, the gifts, the food, the whole feel. I love when people decorate their homes, the lights, the trees, the ornaments. And I like the movies, do you ever see The Kranks, A Kranks Christmas with Tim Allen?

[9:10] Jason: I think I’ve seen it once, I can’t remember it.

[9:13] Bobby: It’s a comedy, but it’s real touching toward the end. There’s an elderly couple who lives across the street, and his wife has got some kind of terminal disease, and he ends up, they never liked each other, and then they become friends at the end. He gives away his trip that him and his wife had planned to the old couple as a gift, even though they’re not friends, because maybe it could be their last time they could have a great time together.

[9:37] Jason: Well, then I really like that.

[9:38] Bobby: It’s a good film. The Kranks, Tim Allen, so good one.

[9:42] Jason: There’s a Bobby film for you to make you feel good, little cry.

[9:44] Bobby: I pop it in every once in a while just to, but it’s funny, too.

[9:48] Jason: So one thing I did do over the holiday is I went over some of the emails, I went into the website email, and I read, and everybody out there, we really appreciate you sending all your notes and all your emails, it’s great.

[10:01] Bobby: We do.

[10:02] Jason: At bobbyandjason.com. But there was one that kinda stuck out at me, and maybe I just rubbed somebody the wrong way with something I said last time, but I’ll read this here off the top.

[10:14] Bobby: Is this the email bag?

[10:15] Jason: Yeah, no, no, it’s not, you got the email bag. This is Jason’s little special email. Says, “Hey, Jason, what’s your deal with Wikipedia? I love it, my kids love it, we learn a lot. I think it’s a bit unfair for you to be saying reading from Wikipedia like it’s a bad thing.

[10:32] Jason: You got my first boo, just kidding, I love you guys. Sharon McHenry.” I didn’t come out and just say, “You know, hey, I don’t like Wikipedia for no.”

[10:42] Bobby: Come on, man, you’re hating on Wikipedia, and you’re hating on people who read from Wikipedia.

[10:47] Jason: I’m not doing that, what I’m saying to you is I just don’t like to sit here and like, okay, let me give you an example. So here I went to Wikipedia, and I got this article about something that happened in the ’80s, so here we go, take a listen.

[20:43] Marlon: Okay, well, this is Prince, the latest in the Prince saga. This is Prince’s alleged wife, and apparently they got married, guys, listen to this, they got married in January on the 14th in 2002, in guess what city?

[21:05] Marlon: Las Vegas! Of course, everybody gets married here.

[21:07] Bobby: That’s awesome. So wait, bro, is this legit, did this really happen?

[21:15] Marlon: Now, here’s the thing, she claims, this is where why she makes it legit, she was married by a rabbi, allegedly.

[21:26] Marlon: Now here’s the genius of it, who at the time drew up a secret will, and that legitimizes the fact that they were married.

[21:36] Marlon: Now here’s the thing, people are saying, “Well, where is this marriage license and blah, blah, blah?” They couldn’t really hand it out because the CIA, the Central Intelligence Agency, considered the document to be top secret.

[21:54] Marlon: That’s why it’s not handed out.

[21:59] Bobby: Sounds like a conspiracy.

[22:03] Marlon: But here’s the genius of Clare, okay? Not only was she allegedly married to Prince in 2002, but at one time, in this current, she ran for president, with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and everybody.

[22:21] Marlon: She actually ran for president.

[22:22] Bobby: She sounds like she’s got it all together, I missed that, I didn’t see her on the ballot.

[22:27] Marlon: Yeah, and she currently lives in Georgia, she is actually married to somebody else now. And also she wanted the world to know, this is part of the documentation, you can actually read it online, that she’s not insane. So that’s an important factor.

[22:48] Bobby: But let me ask you a question, where is this all going? Is she going after his wealth?

[22:55] Marlon: Of course, well, that obviously is the main objective, is that she wants the 300 million.

[23:27] Marlon: You know, the thing is, Prince, before he passed, he actually did not have a will. So when he passed away, everybody came out of the woodwork.

[23:38] Bobby: Man, what a mistake.

[23:39] Marlon: And apparently she’s the last one to come out.

[23:40] Bobby: What a mistake that was, huge mistake, wow.

[23:45] Marlon: I consider that hogwash.

[23:47] Jason: Ah, I agree with you, my good friend.

[23:50] Bobby: Me too. We were talking earlier about some people who passed away in the ’80s, and since you were talking about Prince, Jason mentioned Vanity.

[23:59] Marlon: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[24:00] Bobby: And Jason thought her name was Vanity 6, her real name.

[24:05] Jason: So I didn’t Google it, so I figured I’d ask you, we’re kinda stumped, what was Vanity’s real name?

[24:11] Marlon: Her real name, her God-given name, was Denise Katrina Matthews. That was actually her name.

[24:19] Marlon: And you know, it’s funny because Prince, being the genius that he is, Vanity was actually not the original name he gave her. Would you like to know the original name he gave her?

[24:30] Bobby: What was the original name that Prince was calling her?

[24:34] Marlon: He was gonna call her Vagina.

[24:36] Bobby: Are you serious?

[24:41] Jason: I think Vanity’s a little bit better.

[24:41] Bobby: I think Vanity worked out much better.

[24:47] Marlon: And she said, “No, that’s not gonna happen.” So the genes went back to the.

[24:50] Bobby: Thank God.

[24:52] Marlon: Prince went back on board and came up with Vanity.

[24:54] Bobby: So that one worked, thank God.

[24:57] Bobby: So bro, we wanted to reminisce a little bit about season one on the Awesome ’80s podcast. Did you have any moments? You came in, I think, around episode seven or eight, I don’t remember.

[25:10] Jason: But we always had plans to bring you in.

[25:11] Marlon: Yeah, I came in on lucky seven. And obviously, I’m gonna go ahead and say that, you know, me being on the podcast was my tremendous memory. And I thought that what I did with my Miami Vice perspective.

[25:35] Bobby: Right.

[25:35] Marlon: I thought that I hit a home run with that one, and you guys were having a lot of fun with that, so I’m gonna go with that one.

[25:44] Bobby: What about you, Jason? Do you have any moments you remember specifically?

[25:47] Jason: Just the whole deal, just listening to you guys and hanging out with you, and Marlon being a part of it, it’s just amazing how all the years just melt away.

[25:57] Bobby: Right.

[25:57] Jason: It just melts away.

[25:58] Bobby: Well, it’s like no time had passed.

[26:00] Jason: Exactly, and how often do you get a chance to have a fun second act?

[26:05] Bobby: But I’ll tell you, I have memories, and Diane Franklin was our first interview ever.

[26:11] Jason: Yes, it was.

[26:11] Bobby: And I thought that really went well, and it was a lot of fun.

[26:16] Jason: It was a little nerve-wracking.

[26:17] Bobby: William Katt was great also, the greatest American hero. And then, you know what I really liked? The douchebags, remember when we did the all-time douchebags, and we had the guy from The Karate Kid, that actor, forgot his name.

[26:33] Jason: The Jackass guy, yeah, I know who you’re talking about.

[26:35] Bobby: Jackass of the Week we did also, which was fun.

[26:37] Jason: Well, we have our little segments that we’re gonna get back to. We have a whole little Excel spreadsheet of segments of stuff we’re gonna do, but we’ve just been off the cuff.

[26:46] Bobby: And recently, what Jason brought to the table two weeks ago, the song game, that was a lot of fun with the songs.

[26:55] Marlon: Yeah, I liked that a lot, too, I hope that we do that again and again.

[26:59] Bobby: That’s gonna be part of next year.

[27:00] Jason: So Marlon, you got anybody you wanna send a shout-out to? I’m just dropping this on you, anybody you wanna send a shout-out to listening to the podcast?

[27:48] Bobby: But what do you love about Christmas? Is it the decorations, is it the food, is it the get-togethers?

[27:55] Marlon: I’m gonna go with, I love the tree, I love Christmas trees, those are my favorites. And then my second favorite thing is purchasing gifts for my friends and loved ones, I love doing that and seeing them open up their gifts.

[28:09] Bobby: Yeah, the surprise.

[28:10] Bobby: Are you an artificial tree guy or are you a real tree guy?

[28:14] Jason: Now you’re asking the real questions.

[28:16] Marlon: This is a tough question. Well, my mother was always a real Christmas tree person, and I love that tradition that she always kept with us as kids. But in my old age, I’m gonna go with the.

[28:32] Bobby: Christmas tree. Yeah, no, I understand, what’s nice about real trees is the smell, that fresh smell. But the cleanup is a bitch.

[28:41] Jason: Yeah.

[28:42] Bobby: You know?

[28:43] Marlon: Definitely.

[30:26] Bobby: And you know, the one thing about Trevor the T-Rex is he’s a grumpy one, that guy.

[30:36] Jason: Yeah, we did that farm movie coming out in January, we may be doing voices in a video game, we can’t say much more about that, but if we are, that’s some fun stuff, Bobby and I are into video games.

[30:45] Bobby: Good stuff and cool stuff, we are, and next year’s gonna be interesting. Like I just mentioned, we have a farm film that hasn’t been named yet, and that’s next year, I think in January, February, it’s gonna be released.

[30:56] Bobby: And I play a pig.

[30:59] Jason: That’s perfect, and I play an old billy goat.

[31:03] Jason: An old billy goat.

[31:04] Bobby: So yeah, man, next year, 2017, we’re gonna come back strong for season two.

[31:09] Jason: And we’re kind of expanding on things, too, more than just the ’80s. We live in Vegas, so we’re gonna get out and do some things and take you some places.

[31:17] Bobby: We are. And the most requested thing we get is, “When are we gonna see you two on camera?” And that’s gonna happen at one point next year. Does that mean I have to shave?

[31:27] Jason: Yeah, we both need to shave and look presentable.

[31:31] Bobby: Okay, I can do that.

[31:32] Jason: We don’t know when that will happen, but it’s gonna happen sometime in 2017.

[31:37] Bobby: Yeah, we’ll just leave it there.

[31:38] Jason: Yeah, we’ve got some stuff in the works, because you guys obviously appreciate it, and we appreciate you appreciating it. Things getting bigger than we thought it was gonna get.

[31:47] Bobby: And Marlon Dow will be back with us in season two, so we’ll have our moment with Marlon, that will continue.

[31:54] Jason: So we were gonna read some comments and some emails and stuff, but kind of, sort of didn’t wanna just single anybody out here at the end of the year, and just really thank everybody for everything you’ve done, all the support you’ve given.
